Since when has unemployment not ever been a looming disaster? It is always implement this policy…, no, that other is more fitting; as this as always been the case with the prevalent issue of unemployment. Yes, the government are taking a step or two to do their part but it’s not enough; also not everyone can be an entrepreneur to start a…[Read more]

The probe on the loss of oil revenue by the House of Representative is applaudable. Knowing where to fix the hull of the ship would go a long a way to remediate and recover from losses of the past in the oil sector. Thankfully enough it is not on matters like stolen or missing funds to be probed.

Now that the door is thrown wide open for those who would like to run for office of the 9th senate, all sorts of shenanigans with the politicians and legislators is just rampart. It is no news that Tinubu is backing a few of his candidates to run for seats for the 9th senate. In so doing he has lent some of his weight by attacking the current 8th…[Read more]

All the way from his trial to the final judgement has always been a statement from the higher powers that be. It’s like they were saying:”try me and you will see what happens of you”. I just get this feeling that tells me that at some point he refused to give in to their demands, the dog bit his master.

Removing fuel subsidy…? I don’t get it. Over the last 5 years there has been this talk of subsidy whether it’s a sham of the PDP led government or not. Now the IMF has come out to say that it has to be removed in order to properly fund the health, education and infrastructural sectors. It’s no news that the country’s economy hasn’t been doing…[Read more]

With the whole hocus pocus that went down in Rivers state, I wouldn’t say wike is an epitome for politicians to fashion themselves after. Otherwise there would no safe ground for democracy in the country. If according to Atiku, Nigerians should be like Wike in terms of his tenacity, unbowed and firm, I believe it should be channelled in the right…[Read more]

Ibidapo Olatubosun replied to the topic INEC's reaction to US assessment of the 2019 polls in the forum National forum 6 years ago
I believe that there are some of the challenges that can be eliminated and also mitigated simultaneously without having to wait to reduce them one after the other. For example the issue of intimidation of voters by security forces can be eliminated. It just takes a word from the president and that is resolved.

Given the assessment made by the US on how interference from security forces, low voter turnout, vote-buying, voter intimidation were all done, they felt somewhat disappointed with the elections. That being said, INEC has responded by saying there could be no perfect election anywhere in world, and there were lessons to be learned and room for…[Read more]
